Here is something about food waste !
While our earth is struggling to provide enough food to sustain 7 billion people ( approx. 9 billion in 2050 ).
Australian discard up to 20 % of food they purchase, which up to 40 % of their daily rubbish is FOOD.
In total, 8 Billion of edible food every day are throw out by Aussies.
Is Australia is a food paradise or hell?
Oh ! Let’s see what we throw away !
2.67 Billions of Fresh Food
2.18 Billions of leftover
1.17 Billions of packaged and long-life products
727 Millions of drinks
727 Millions of Frozen Food
566 Millions of takeaways
The wasteful behaviour does not just hurt our wallet, more important this behaviour destroy our beautiful planet. 😦
Food waste leads to different negative impact to our environment, including water, land, energy, labour and capital and needlessly produce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to global warming and climate change.
Not just our planet, but our people….
Australia produces enough food to feed approx. 60 million people, yet two million people still rely on food relief every year.
SO, it’s time to stop this.
It’s time to rescue our food, our society and our planet !
